2019 Food and Nutrition Extension Education (FNEE) Division Student Scholarship Application
The goal of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior Food and Nutrition Extension Education Division (FNEE) Student Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to attend the FNEE Pre-Conference and SNEB Annual Conference. To be eligible for this Scholarship the applicant must be a senior undergraduate, graduate or international student enrolled in a United States or international degree program in nutrition, family and consumer sciences, public health, health education, community health or closely related field.
One scholarship will be awarded each year provided that FNEE Division funds are available. The recipient will receive a monetary award to offset conference registration. For the 2019 Conference the scholarship amount is $270.00.
The application form and essay must be submitted by April 19, 2019.
All applications will be rated based on the quality of the responses and the answer to the essay question "How do you plan to apply what you learn at the FNEE Pre-Conference and SNEB Conference to help advance your studies, research and/or professional work in nutrition education?”, along with the candidate’s ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely. A current Curriculum Vita and Letter of Recommendation from a professor are also required.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT NOTIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
The scholarship recipient will be chosen by May 3 and notified by the FNEE Scholarship Review Committee Chair. The scholarship recipient will be recognized at the FNEE Annual Business Meeting and other Annual Conference activities/sessions, and in the Annual Conference Program Booklet.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANT MENTORING
The scholarship recipient will be offered the opportunity to work with a conference mentor. The name and contact information for the mentor will be provided by the FNEE Division Representative to the SNEB Mentoring Committee.
Note: Following the conference you will be required to submit a brief recap in the format of an article, video, or blog about your experience which will be posted on the FNEE Division website and printed in the quarterly newsletter.
